62 Billion Nairobi Express highway!

Work is underway on the proposed 27km-long Nairobi express highway in preparation for full construction.

The highway, which is known as Nairobi Expressway, begins at Mlolongo, connects Jomo Kenyatta International Airport to the city centre, and then terminates at James Gichuru in Westlands.

There is no doubt that during the period that this project will be under construction the city will face huge traffic snarl ups! And do you think the government cares to save your time and fuel costs? I highly doubt it. It is against this backdrop that I am writing to help the city residents not only for the time that the highway will be under construction but forever.

 I guess we are all familiar with the traffic jams associated with Mombasa road in the morning and evening hours day in day out that greatly affects the inbound and outbound JKIA clientele albeit little or zero innovations forthcoming from the government and its agencies.

We all know that travelling is an energy-draining, straining and tiring venture, it becomes even worse when you have had a 15hour flight to get caught up in massive traffic jams before getting to your hotel, apartment or home.

 So, what solution do we have in store to our dear tourists and patriotic citizens that get drenched in this madness? 

Here is the solution! CS Macharia should open up the old airport road that connects to Outering Road for inbound traffic only, game short! Statisticians will tell you more and if they don't it will be my next blog, watch this space!, Offcoarse the time that a motorist will take through Outering to Westlands will be substantially reduced compared to getting stuck in the mind-boggling Mombasa road traffic.

Am sure the next thing you will hear is security operatives baying for my blood that this proposal lacks merit and will compromise Airport Security Operations, I say Nay. It is the traffic towards (outbound) the airport that poses a threat to airport security and indeed must be subjected to all laid down international airport security checks. My proposal will not in any way touch this sect of the airport. On the other hand, all inbound airport traffic/visitors are threat-free as they are or were subjected to airport security checks from airports of origin and in the destination airport(in this case JKIA) immigration desks. 

This is not an assumption but the truth and only the truth. So, Open Up Old Airport Road and Connect To Outering Superhighway 4 Motorists To Get Cruising!
